Its the smell of freshly sharpened pencils, and crisp notebook paper. The smell of a brand new backpack, and new leather shoes. I know the calendar says the new year starts in January, but any parent will tell you its the end of August! There is something so rejuvinating about a new school year. Its the beginning of new opportunities, new friends and it means…a QUIET HOUSE! If you are like me, and work from home, today is the day I wait all summer for! I have to say, there were no sad parents at the bus stop this morning. Actually, I think I caught a few dancing! Oh, I know school means homework help, packing lunches, and clothing fights- but it also means schedules and organization, and around this house, I will take that at any cost.
So, at 8AM Hunter {thats right, we added a kid} and Ashleigh loaded up on the bus to head off to LPA. And lil’ haylee got in the car for her quick ride to Primrose- she starts 5 days a week this year! They were all smiles, and I know its going to be an awesome year!
And of course, pics of them headed back to school {i am dancing around my QUIET office as I type this}…

We got together to shoot {mostly} miss M in the studio and then we will be meeting this month to shoot Big sis’s two-year old session and some of Miss M outside. Its so funny when I meet siblings- its amazing how similar then can be to each other. These two sisters not only look so much alike, they even sound alike! Mom and dad are so excited about their new addition- and so is Big sis!  Congrats on your latest addition!

Aren’t they adorable? We had a great time out at the beach for Miss L’s 18 month session.  I still cant believe how much she is grown. I always love when I get to photograph family’s together- I love seeing how the parents and kids interact, and some of the outtakes are the best photos.

He is also well protected- he has three moms! When we were shooting, his two big sisters were never more than a few feet away. watching him and protecting him was their priority! It was so sweet!  You could tell he loved it to, he watched for them, and made sure they were close by.

She came to visit her cousins, so we snuck the extra two in for a few shots.  Miss Milan is so gorgeous, and you can see why- mom and dad were rockin’ the camera too!

William was 8 days old in these pictures and weighed in just over 8 pounds. We have all waited {patiently} for this lil’ peanut to make his debut- his mom and dad are friends of ours in the neighborhood. I have waited quite a few months to enjoy a glass of wine withe the new mom and we FINALLY get too! William is as perfect as can be- sleeping well, no fussies- just amazing. And both mom and dad {and his two big sisters} are so smitten with him. Who can blame them with all that chubbiness and wonderfully flaky newborn skin! I am pretty smitten myself!

Congrats guys- he is perfect!

Mom and dad were both so smitten with this little cutie, he was so smushy! of course, Mr. Owen decided he wanted to party all through the session, and only slept for 15 minutes. Fortunately, he was so wonderful when he was awake, we captured some beautiful newborn images.
