{The one} with the glass…

Something must be in the water…and if thats the case, I am not drinking any! The studio has been filled with expectant parents lately!  Its so cute to see them all excited and anticipating the birth of thier little ones.  This couple was no different- so anxious and so happy! The birth of any child is amazing- but when its your first, I think the excitement is on overload! It probably has something to do with that fear of the unknown too. Of course, all my new moms are afraid of the labor part- HA! Thats the easiest part! And trust me, in a few months, you will forget all that! Its the raising them part thats scary! I am afraid every little minute decision I make means the difference between raising the next US President or Ax murderer! No pressure though…

This father-to-be is so excited, and so smitten with his beautiful wife- although, who can blame him! She looks pretty amazing for nine months pregnant! I think he ooed and ahhd over her through the whole session! He even requested the kissing the belly shot {because he does it every day at home}- that of course led to the “listening glass” shot.  I wonder if he heard anything??  I just love watching new parents! Having a baby changes so much about your relationship and your life- the more you enjoy the ride, the better that ride is! Congrats you two- I cant wait to meet your new baby! I wonder if its a boy or a girl…;)

{The one} with the cute shoes…

Nothing makes me happier than clients who spend a good amount of time thinking about what they are going to wear in a portrait session.  Ok, wait, thats a lie- nothing makes me happier than eating chocolate- but since that does not affect my sessions, good outfits come in close second! Mrs. G put a lot of thought into what her little one would wear- and even had shoes that coordinated.  No easy feat when you pick a wine shade! Ever gone hunting for a pair of toddler peds in wine??!! Of course, the family was coordinated fabulously, and worked so hard to keep little Miss I in our shooting area! On a gorgeous Saturday morning, what more could I ask for!

Hope you guys enjoy the sneak peak! Cant wait to meet Miss I’s little sister!

{The one} with my new toy…

I have been waiting weeks for this…ok, well months! I am so excited- it came on the mail on Saturday!

I can’t wait to shoot my first wedding on Saturday with the new video feature.  This bad boy is so big and so heavy- I need to start lifting more weights {wait, that assumes I lift at all} to be able to carry this beast for 8 hours! I cant wait to try it out and see how it performs! Stay tuned for the review…

{The one} where we get lit…

Michelle had contacted me last fall about a Haute & Hitched session for her and her hubby.  They had eloped to Vegas shortly before his departure to Iraq- and did not get many images while in Vegas.  So, for our shoot, we decided to wait till after all the craziness of the holidays.  It ended up to be a gorgeous day {perhaps a tad cold if you were in a strapless dress}.  We had such a great time walking, photographing and chatting, we ended up moving to a different site- and leaving keys, sweaters and phones behind. So, about 15 minutes later {when we realized what we had forgotten}, we wnt sprinting back to were the stuff was- only it was not there! Needless to say, panic set in for me- I dont want a client to lose anything on a shoot! I felt awful! Well…that is until this really nice man walks up and says “are you missing some keys and a phone”? YES!YES! So, this awesome guy had picked them up and turned them into the restaurant- assuming someone had walked off and forgotten them.

Of course, I am standing here with a woman in a white strapless dress, and a guy in dress slacks {not typical Saturday attire for downtown Jax} so the nice man asks me what we are up to.  After explaining he tells us he works for a new bar , and when we finish to head on down.  Now, a bar in downtown kind of scares me for photographs- but I am always up for a challenge, and it appears so were the Michelle & hez.  So, after we finished we headed down to the bar- and found it to be so FABULOUS! Lit, an uber chic bar in downtown, was a the perfect spot to finish up our session.  The brick wall was as yummy as could be, and that couch- well, they were lucky that I did not walk off with it!  But more than that, the staff was so awesome! The bouncer, John, who found all our stuff introduced us, and even gave Michelle and Hex passes to come back later that night as VIP’s!  Seriously, this place is so cool- so if you are out for a hot date night, get by there! Its definitely worth the trip! Thank you also to Floriade for the always amazing bouquet- as usual Tuffani rocked it!
